The Institute for Diabetes Discovery, LLC, (IDD) is the largest privately-held biopharmaceutical company in the United States dedicated to the research and discovery of novel drugs and therapeutics for diabetes. Founded in 1995 in Branford, Connecticut, IDD is the flagship institute under the umbrella of the Institutes for Pharmaceutical Discovery, LLC.

The magnitude of the worldwide health and economic problems created by diabetes is staggering. The incidence of diabetes is reaching epidemic proportions and is the fourth leading cause of death in developed countries. In the United States, 18.2 million Americans suffer from this devastating disease, 1.3 million new cases will be diagnosed each year, and total healthcare treatment costs exceed $132 billion annually. Diabetes is a disease that affects virtually every tissue of the body with long term and severe damage. It spares no group - attacking men, women, children, the elderly and people from every racial background.

Our Science Team's extensive knowledge and expertise in diabetes led us to filing an IND for diabetic complications (IDD 676) within 30 months of commencing discovery - our first in an extensive product pipeline.
